Galena Mining Ltd (ASX:G1A) managing director Tony James updates Proactive on the June concentrate shipment from the Abra Base Metals Mine in WA. The lead and silver stock sent roughly 5,000 tonnes of concentrate to a smelter in Japan as production ramps up at the WA camp. James says work is advancing on Abras underground mine, where the mines primary pumping system has been commissioned.
An example is the installation of the surface remote facility allowing for production bogging to continue over shift changes and the mines primary pumping system has been successfully commissioned, James said.
The mine has also completed the 6-metre diameter primary exhaust and intake rises down to the 1,280mRL level from the surface (1,550mRL level) in preparation for installation of the second primary fan in July.
Good progress has been made in June with mining in ten different stopes on the 1280mRL and 1260mRL levels. Its very rewarding to see the high level of technology that is being applied at the Abra mine that will deliver many benefits as we continue to ramp up production.
